Social Distancing

Contact Time on Wednesday, 15 July 2009. Due to Influenza A protocol, the school had its Contact Time in the hall with teachers sitting far apart. Reminded me of my days in NIE, sitting for the exams. (Fuji Finepix S100FS, ISO 800, f5.6, 1/45s)

Classic Portrait

Another shot of my lovely daughter. She was reaching for a toy when I took this shot with the main light coming from the window. I decided to play with the shadows and convert it to black and white. I simply love this shot. (Nikon D300, AF Nikkor 50mm ISO 200 f2.8 1/200s)

Anis Qistina

Quite a number of my colleagues have asked to look at a photo of my daughter. This shot was taken a few weeks back when I first bought my used Nikon D300. Shot taken without flash and using avaialble light from the window. (Nikon D300, AF Nikkor 50mm 1.8D, ISO 400 f2.8 1/100s)

A Ghostly Encounter

I was walking along the corridor towards the library when I took this shot. It was underexposed due to the background light fooling the camera's meter. However, I did a bit of post processing to give a kind of sombre look to the photo. It's pretty evident who my subjects were. (Fuji Finepix S100FS, ISO 400, f3.9 1/110s)

NE Show 09 Preliminary Fireworks

One of the few fireworks before the finale. My location was not ideal as I had people walking across my view almost all the time. Shot was taken with my my D300 positioned on my SLIK tripod. I was very disappointed that I couldn't shoot the fireworks finale as the rain came pouring down and I had to save my gear. (Nikon D300, AF-S Nikkor 18-70 3.5-4.5G, ISO 800, f9.0 1/20s)

Surrender

Shot taken during the NE Show. I was sitting nearly at the back of the viewing gallery and had to use my AF 80-200mm 2.8 with a 2x teleconverter. Cropping was done to focus on the action. (Nikon D300, AF 80-200mm 2.8 with a 2x teleconverter, ISO 400, f2.8, 1/80s).

Infirmary In The 60s?

I was walking at the garden when I took this shot of a teacher on duty at the infirmary. I decided to convert it to black and white and use a pinhole camera effect to create a moody look to it. (Fuji Finepix S100FS, ISO 200, 165mm f4.3 1/220)

Science Lab Experiment

This shot was taken while conducting a Science Experiment for my class. The experiment involves submerging a leaf in hot water for the pupils to see air bubbles on the underside of the leaves. Shot was taken using my Fuji Finepix S100FS, at f2.8, 1/125, ISO 800. Image has been magnified and cropped.

Lunch at Swensen's

Posted by PicasaI used my Fuji Finepix S100FS to take my first shot for my APAD Project. Image was taken at Swensen's @ Northpoint. It was a bit underexposed so I tweaked it in Picasa 3. Didn't do a good job though. (35mm, f3.0, ISO 200)
